Background and Challenges
As the global retail industry increasingly demands supply chain traceability, compliance with the GS1 international standards has become a necessary condition for beverage enterprises to enter large-scale supermarket chains and international markets.
A large PET bottle beverage producer located in Southeast Asia originally used traditional small character inkjet printers for bottle coding. However, as the daily production volume exceeded hundreds of thousands of bottles, the traditional equipment faced a series of problems: the cost of ink consumables was high, the ink was prone to smudging and fading in high humidity environments, and frequent equipment downtime for cleaning the nozzles seriously hindered the overall equipment efficiency (OEE) of the entire line. After completing the equipment installation and the production line debugging, the beverage factory achieved significant improvements in production efficiency and operational costs:
Compliance rate reaches 100%: All the products manufactured meet the tracking and traceability requirements of the GS1 standard, and have successfully entered major supermarkets and export channels.
