All CYCJET lasers are classified as Class IV equipment, but operation as a Class I system is recommended to ensure operator safety. This can be achieved by installing a beam shield around the laser marking point. The design, size, and material of the beam shield depend on the type of laser used. Typically, the shield is equipped with interlocking devices to stop operation if all components are not properly installed. The buyer is responsible for the protective device, but CYCJET laser experts are happy to provide guidance on beam shields and, where necessary, complete solutions and Class I certification from third-party organizations.
In addition to the beam shield, CYCJET also recommends using a fume extractor to ensure operator safety. The fume extractor not only prevents operators from inhaling fumes generated during laser marking but also helps keep the laser optics clean, thus ensuring marking quality.
